    Kids Club is our before & after school programming that offers a variety of activities for children. At Kids Club we pride ourselves in having fun, learning & exploring. A light snack is provided in our after school programming. Kids Club is open on days when school is in session for before and after school care. Kids Club is also open during teacher work shops and conferences for full days. Join us to make new friends, learn new things & have fun! This year we are expanding to include Pre-school age childcare during select days! Does your child attend pre-school at the Aitkin Childrens Center? They they can come to Kids Club during the days when they are not in school! This is available on Monday/Wednesday/Fridays only. This means that if your child attends AM preschool, then they can come to Kids Club after preschool for the rest of the day! Hours: Before school: 6:45am - 8:05am After School: 3:00-5:30pm Ages: Preschool: 3 years and over attending Jr. Jakes or Jakes preschool School age: K-6th grade students Fee Scale: AM Care: $4/day PM Care: $6/day 1/2 day Preschool care: $12/day - choose if you need morning or afternoon childcare Full day Preschool care Mon/Wed/Fri only) - $30/day Non school day care is available on select days from 6:45am - 5:30pm Fee: $25/day Please register 3 days prior to needing childcare. Summer Kids Club will be open from June 3 - August 23. Full day is 6:45am - 5:30pm and is $30/day. We will also have the option for Before/After ASK at $4 and $6/day

  • Adult Beginner Golf

    Do you want to learn to golf, but are intimidated at how to start the sport? Come learn the basics with other beginners. Each evening will start with a short lesson on the driving range. The group will split into foursomes (3 rookies and 1 skilled golfer in each group for a 9 hole round.

  • Aitkin Baseball

    Mark your calendars...the summer 2024 Aitkin Baseball program is all set! Evaluation and Tryout Practice Saturday, February 17, 2024 Aitkin High School All players, ages 14 and under, interested in Aitkin summer baseball are welcome to go though stations and prepare for tryouts for the 2024 season. There will be 4-5 practice stations for your child to practice at. Each will be run very similar to the Evaluation Day stations. Players may practice as long as they like during their designated time slot. In-house Evaluations and Travel Tryouts Saturday, February 24, 2024 All players, ages 14 and under, MUST attend. Times will be posted soon. Registration through community education is for the payment portion of the registration process. You need to first register at www.aitkinbaseball.com

    BEAUTIFUL: The Carol King Musical at the Chanhassen- this is the inspiring true story of Carol King's remarkable journey from teenage songwriter to Rock & Roll Hall of fame music legend. Coach bus will leave Rippleside at 8:15 am. Cost is $120 including per ticket (includes lunch, performance and coach bus) Lunch at 11:00 am- show at 1:00 pm
  • Big Dreamers Softball

    Big Dreamers is for girls going into or just completing Kindergarten. Big Dreamers is a fun atmosphere to learn the basics of softball. We will cover hitting, throwing, base running, positions, beginner catching and sportsmanship. The last session, we will have "Big Sisters" (older AYF players" join us for a softball game where the Big Dreamers each have a Big Sister to shadow them throughout the game. Big Dreamers will play on Monday July 8-29 from 6-7:30pm

    Learn the basics of each game and progress through to strategy of game play. Snack will be provided each day.
  • Dance Team Spring Clinic and Evaluations

    The Aitkin All Starz coaching staff is looking to grow the dance team program and we are inviting students in Grades 6-11 to attend our Spring Clinic & Evaluations. Dance experience is not required. We are looking for athletes with a desire to learn, work hard and have fun! At the Spring Clinic, dancers can expect to learn a short routine and work on a variety of dance team skills. Dancers must attend at least two Spring Clinic sessions to be eligible for Evaluations. This also applies to current and former dance team members. The Evaluations are held to assess individual abilities and earn a spot on the Aitkin All Starz winter competition dance team. Dancers will be assigned into groups for evaluations. Each group will be assigned to a specific time slot to perform the Spring Clinic routine and demonstrate a variety of dance skills. All dancers and their parents will receive an email from the coaching staff shortly after evaluations with their individual results and important details on upcoming events.     Last spring, we were able to secure a grant that will allow us to open up our beautiful “Fab Lab” to the public! The grant is through Age-Friendly MN. Age-Friendly Minnesota is a collaborative statewide effort to make our systems and communities more inclusive of and responsive to older adults. It is part of a global movement to prepare for an aging population and ensure that older people are valued and integrated into communities at a new level. Over the course of the next year, we will be introducing different classes and projects that everyone is invited to participate in! If you are over the age of 65, then the class is FREE! To start things off, we will be doing different woodworking projects and using the high-tech embroidery machine! For the Embroidery Class, bring in either your own clothes to get personalized or kitchen towel to decorate.

To start things off, we will be doing different woodworking projects and using the high-tech embroidery machine! Come learn how new technology can pre-cut all the parts of a wood project in just a matter of minutes! You will get all the parts needed and then you can assemble and decorate as needed.

    Who are Family, Friends, and Neighbor (FFN) Caregivers? They are a large and important group of Minnesotans who provide childcare for the children of family members, friends, or neighbors on a regular basis. Are you or someone you know a FFN Caregiver?? Then this event is for you! Come to the Aitkin Children's Center for an Open-House style Play and Learn with the children you care for. We will have toys, crafts, and activities ready for them to explore, as well as valuable information for the Caregivers to take home. The first 10 Caregivers to register for each event will receive a gift valued at over $25. This program is grant-funded and completely FREE!

  • Finding Nemo Jr. Bus Trip

    Duluth Playhouse presents a one-act musical adaptation of the beloved Pixar movie Finding Nemo. We will be taking a school bus to Duluth leaving Rippleside Elementary at 10:30am and going to the Duluth Rose Garden where you can have a picnic lunch before heading over the the Playhouse for a 2:00 show.

  • High School Dungeon & Dragons Club

    This club will meet after school for some D&D lessons and game play.
  • High School Tutor Help

    A majority of kids who need a tutor in high school do not need actual help with the schoolwork, but rather a caring adult that is committed to help them stay on track. The person can help them stay organized with their assignments, and hold them accountable for getting things done.   • Jakes (4's) Preschool

    Discover a place where young children are excited to come and learn!! Jakes (4‛s) Preschool at the Aitkin Children‛s Center is a four star parent aware rated program taught by highly qualified and licensed instructors. A typical class period will contain: large group circle, small group stations, free choice centers, snack, story time, large muscle time within the gym or outdoors, and music and movement. Instruction will emphasize the importance of social emotional learning as well as basic school readiness skills. Children must be 4 prior to September 1, 2021.
